Tier-2 Backlinks That Make Your PBN Links Work Harder
A PBN link placed on a DA 40 aged domain is only as strong as the authority flowing into that domain. If the host site has 80 referring domains but most of them are weakly indexed or decaying, the link equity it passes to your target URL is diluted. Tier-2 link building solves that problem directly.
Tier-2 links point at your Tier-1 PBN placements, not at your money site. They strengthen the authority of the host domain, speed up indexing of the post containing your link, and push more equity through the chain to your target page. Done in the right order, at the right volume, they're one of the most cost-effective ways to squeeze more out of a PBN campaign you've already paid for.
Our Tier-2 service starts at $30 for 100 links. Turnaround is 5 to 7 business days. Every order includes a live report.
What Tier-2 Links Actually Do
Understanding the mechanics behind multi-tiered link building.
The mechanics are straightforward once you think about how Google calculates link equity. A link from a domain with 80 referring domains passes more authority than a link from a domain with 8, all else being equal. When you build Tier-2 links to your PBN host domains, you're increasing the incoming link count and authority of those hosts, which in turn increases the equity they pass down to your money site.
π― Three specific outcomes from a well-executed Tier-2 campaign:
Google's crawl budget prioritizes pages that are being actively linked to. A fresh post on a PBN site with no inbound links may take weeks to get crawled. A post with 100β500 Tier-2 links gets crawled faster, often within days.
Web 2.0 properties, social signals, citation links, and niche-relevant profile links all contribute to a domain's perceived authority and crawl frequency. At volume, pointed at a domain with a legitimate backlink profile, they add a measurable authority floor.
This is the goal. PageRank flows through the chain: Tier-2 sources β PBN host domain β target URL. More equity coming in at Tier-2 means more passing through at Tier-1 level.
None of this is new. Tiered link building has worked for over a decade. What's changed is how carefully you need to manage the Tier-2 mix in 2026, given SpamBrain's improved ability to detect unnatural link velocity patterns at every tier, not just the money site level.
What's Included in a Tier-2 Order
Every order is a mixed package. We don't run 1,000 identical web 2.0 posts because a homogenous link profile at Tier-2 is as detectable as one at Tier-1.
Posts on free blogging platforms with contextual links to your PBN URLs. These carry modest authority on their own but add diversity to the link profile and give Google something to crawl from multiple directions.
Shares, bookmarks, and indexed social content pointing at your Tier-1 URLs. These function as crawl triggers more than genuine authority builders, but getting Googlebot to revisit a PBN post regularly is worth doing.
Business directory and citation submissions pointing at the host domain or specific posts. These work particularly well for local-niche PBN sites.
Forum profiles, community profiles, and web directory listings. Low individual authority, high volume, fast to crawl. Good for breadth.
Where the niche allows for it, we include forum content that contextually links to your PBN posts. These carry more weight than pure profile links and look more natural in a backlink audit.
The mix shifts slightly depending on the niche. A finance PBN campaign gets heavier citation and forum weighting. A general lifestyle campaign leans more on social signals and web 2.0 diversity.
Pricing
Volume pricing that makes Tier-2 link building accessible at any scale.
All packages include a live report listing every URL with the link pointing at your specified Tier-1 destination.
View Sample Report βMost clients run the Growth or Pro package β 500 links across 30 PBN placements averages 16 Tier-2 links per host URL.
Order Growth Package βFor large Tier-1 orders (100+ links), the Scale package spreads coverage across all host domains evenly.
Order Scale Package βAll orders include live URL report and indexing confirmation.
When to Use Tier-2 Links
Timing matters as much as volume. Here's the optimal sequence.
Wait for the live report confirming your placements are up.
β±οΈ Week 1Let the Tier-1 posts get crawled and index naturally. Running Tier-2 links at a fresh Tier-1 post the same week it goes live creates an unnatural velocity pattern that SpamBrain can detect.
β±οΈ Weeks 2β4Point at the live Tier-1 URLs from your placement report. Spread the order across all host URLs evenly rather than concentrating on two or three.
β±οΈ Week 4+Check the Tier-1 indexing status in Google Search Console or via site: queries for your placements two weeks after the Tier-2 order ships.
β±οΈ Week 5β6Important: Running Tier-2 links to placements that haven't indexed yet is wasted spend. Tier-2 helps indexed Tier-1 links pass more equity. It can't compensate for a host domain that's been deindexed or demoted.
What to Avoid
Common mistakes that can hurt your campaign performance.
Defeats the purpose of tiered building and adds low-grade link quality directly to your target page's backlink profile.
Increases Penguin risk. Keep Tier-2 anchors broad β URLs, generics, branded variations. Equity flows regardless of anchor text.
Keep the tiers clean. Tier-2 β PBN host β money site. Don't cross-contaminate with direct Tier-2 to money site links.
Remember: Tier-2 link quality is deliberately low-grade. They're built to strengthen your PBN hosts without leaving a footprint. Don't point them at your money site, don't use exact-match anchors, and keep the tiers clean.
Indexing Guarantee
We stand behind our delivery with a clear, measurable promise.
If fewer than 80% of your Tier-2 links are indexed within 30 days of delivery, we'll top up the order at no charge to hit that threshold.
We check indexing through a combination of site: queries and our indexer monitoring tools.
The majority of Tier-2 links are nofollow or low-authority, and a portion will never index at all. That's expected and doesn't diminish their usefulness. Social bookmarks and many web 2.0 properties pass crawl signals regardless of index status.
Live Report
Complete transparency on every link delivered.
Complete list of all Tier-2 source URLs and their target destinations.
Web 2.0, citation, profile, social, forum β clearly labeled for each link.
Current index status confirmed at time of reporting for every link.
Every order ships with a report listing every destination URL, the source of each Tier-2 link, the link type, and the indexing status at the time of reporting. You can verify independently using Ahrefs ($129/mo Lite) or Semrush ($139/mo Pro).
Reports are delivered within 24 hours of the final link going live.
FAQ
Everything you need to know about Tier-2 link building.
Not as intended. Tier-2 links accelerate crawling and strengthen authority on indexed content. If the Tier-1 post isn't indexed, there's nothing for the equity to pass through. Wait for your Tier-1 placements to index before running Tier-2. Our Premium PBN service includes indexing confirmation before the live report ships, so you know exactly when your placements are ready.
At the host domain level, it can if you're careless about volume. 5,000 Tier-2 links hitting one PBN domain in 48 hours is an obvious spike. Spread across 30 to 100 host URLs over a week, the per-domain volume is modest and consistent with what a real blog accumulates through normal social sharing and directory listing activity over time.
Technically yes, but we'd recommend against it. Tier-2 link sources are intentionally low-grade. They're built to strengthen your PBN hosts without leaving a footprint at the authority tier. Pointing them at your money site adds that low-grade profile directly to your target page's backlink history. That's visible in Ahrefs and Majestic, and it's not a profile you want a manual reviewer seeing on a commercial site.
A rough working range is 10 to 50 Tier-2 links per Tier-1 placement. Below 10 and the authority boost is negligible. Above 50 concentrated on a single host URL risks a detectable velocity pattern on that domain. For a 50-link PBN order, the Growth package (500 links) gives you an average of 10 per host. The Pro package (1,000 links) gives you 20 per host. Both are within the safe range.
Some will, some won't. Higher-authority web 2.0 properties and indexed forum posts often show in Ahrefs. Low-grade profile links and social bookmarks frequently don't. Majestic tends to catch more of the low-authority end than Ahrefs does because of its broader crawl. Either way, the profile that shows is consistent with what a normal blog accumulates organically. It won't look suspicious.
Yes. When you submit the order, provide a list of all Tier-1 URLs you want covered and specify how you'd like the links distributed. We'll spread them proportionally or weight them by your preference. This is common for agency clients managing multiple client PBN campaigns simultaneously.
Once per Tier-1 order, typically. Running Tier-2 continuously at the same host domains produces diminishing returns after the first campaign and can look unnatural at high volume. The exception is if you're building out a Tier-1 network over time and adding new placements regularly. In that case, bundle new Tier-2 runs with each new batch of Tier-1 links rather than running them continuously against the same URLs.
Yes. Clients ordering Tier-1 PBN links and Tier-2 in the same checkout get 10% off the Tier-2 package. The discount applies automatically at checkout when both services are in the cart. The Tier-2 order holds in queue until the Tier-1 placement report confirms live URLs, then ships 2 to 3 weeks later.
